MassHire Cape and Islands Workforce Board (CIWB) is a key partner for Encore Construction, playing a pivotal role in workforce and economic development throughout the Cape and Islands region. As one of sixteen workforce boards across the Commonwealth, CIWB collaborates closely with the local MassHire Career Center to implement the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) mandates. Organized as a private non-profit, CIWB oversees all publicly funded vocational education and training programs in the region, serving 15 towns and the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. By working with businesses, non-profits, municipalities, and academic partners, CIWB ensures that the local workforce is well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of the economy, making it an invaluable ally in our mission to build a better Cape Cod. We are so proud that our very own Samantha Nikula works with this organization.
FORWARD
FORWARD (Friends Or Relatives With Autism & Related Disabilities) is another vital organization that Encore Construction is proud to support. Founded in 2014, FORWARD addresses the critical housing needs of adults with autism and related disabilities, a population for whom government-owned housing is scarce and private-sector for-profit housing is often unaffordable. To combat this issue, FORWARD is developing a regional housing community called FORWARD at the Rock, which will provide affordable, supportive housing for eight Cape Cod residents eligible for state financial assistance. This project exemplifies a sustainable approach to meeting the urgent housing needs of this underserved community, and it is supported by a coalition of government, businesses, foundations, and individual donors.
Dennis Chamber
The Dennis Chamber of Commerce is a crucial partner in Encore Construction’s community efforts, dedicated to supporting local businesses and fostering a thriving economic environment. Their mission is to help members prosper by promoting business growth and sustainability, while creating valuable connections within the community. Through collaboration with the Dennis Chamber, Encore Construction contributes to a robust network that bolsters local enterprises and enhances the overall vitality of the Cape Cod region. Our very own President, Kathy DeMeyer, is actively involved on the Board of the Dennis Chamber.
WE CAN
Encore is proud to support this organization as a Community Builder. WE CAN (Women’s Empowerment through Cape Area Networking) is an exceptional organization that Encore Construction proudly supports, dedicated to empowering Cape Cod women to achieve self-sufficiency and stability. Since its founding in 2001, WE CAN has been a leading resource for women seeking to improve their lives, offering a safe, respectful, and empowering environment. Serving over 2,000 women annually, WE CAN provides free and confidential legal services, employment and business support, financial empowerment, mentoring, and personal development programs. With the help of a small staff and 300 dedicated volunteers, WE CAN is a beacon of hope and opportunity for women across Cape Cod.
The Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod (HBRACC) is a key partner for Encore Construction, dedicated to supporting homeownership and the residential construction industry on Cape Cod. With over 300 member companies, HBRACC represents builders, remodelers, suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry-related businesses. The association advocates for the industry, ensures homeownership opportunities, provides education and training, and offers valuable networking opportunities. Additionally, HBRACC supports local charities, scholarships, and community initiatives, making it an integral part of enhancing quality of life on Cape Cod. Both Kathy and Samantha have both past and present roles within HBRACC.
PRO New England is an esteemed organization that Encore Construction collaborates with to uphold and advance professionalism in the remodeling industry. Serving a wide range of professionals, including remodelers, contractors, design-build firms and suppliers. PRO New England is dedicated to promoting ethical practices, inclusivity, and high standards within the industry. By aligning with PRO New England’s mission and values, Encore Construction ensures that their work not only meets, but exceeds industry standards, contributing to the growth and integrity of the professional remodeling community.
In conclusion, Encore Construction’s commitment to building a better Cape Cod is reflected in our active involvement with these impactful organizations. Our team members have served as past and present board members and volunteers with MASS HIRE, FORWARD, Dennis Chamber, WE CAN, Home Builders of Cape Cod, and PRO-New England. By partnering with these organizations, we contribute to workforce development, support local businesses, and enhance the quality of life in our community. Together, we are dedicated to fostering growth, opportunity, and prosperity throughout Cape Cod.
