HISTORIC KITCHEN
A Clash in Time
These clients love their home which was built in the 1700s, but they always felt their kitchen completely clashed! The cabinets were a basic white inset cabinet, with simple oak flooring at the diagonal and Corian countertops which are hip to the 80s. They came to Encore looking to remodel the kitchen to better blend with the rest of the home.
Preserve the Integrity
That was Encore’s main focus while remodeling this kitchen. Encore’s solution was to keep the footprint of the original kitchen but update the kitchen to better harmonize with the era the home was built. This was done by updating cabinets, replacing the old flooring, swapping out finishes and fixtures and adding details that you would find in the 1700s.
Loving Their New Old Kitchen
Whether it is dinner parties, holidays or just having friends over this kitchen is now ready for entertaining! The accessories and details in this kitchen perfectly exemplify the era this home was built, with the wide board antique pine flooring, iron cabinet pulls and soft cream colors you would find in another 1700’s home.
